The city of Barcelona is known worldwide also thanks to a very special ambassador: Pablo Picasso. The intense relationship between the artist and the wonderful Catalan city was consolidated in a small number of years. Picasso moved, in fact, to the city with his family in 1895 and there lived until 1904, before moving to Paris.

The testimony of this profound link between Barcelona and the great artist is represented by the famous Picasso museum that manages to express the will to leave an indelible mark in this city that has always fascinated him. The museum was founded in 1963 in the palace Aguilar, number 15 of Calle Montacada (Barrio Gotico), and today is hosted by five palaces of the Middle Ages. A good idea is to book one of the appartamenti Barcellona in this area and enjoy your stay.

The Picasso Museum is one of the most popular and visited exhibitions in the city which consists of more than 3500 works, especially relating to the artists youth. As mentioned, in fact, Picasso lived there for nine years during the period of his youth. Two of Picasso’s famous masterpieces can be seen in the museum dating from 1896 and 1897: “The first communion” and “Science and charity.” At the moment, acquisitions and donations help to broaden the permanent collection and pay for quality exhibitions.

In short, this is a museum that certainly deserves a visit especially if you are fan of the famous artist. What the Picasso museum offers is the chance to get closer to the period where Picasso was reasonably unknown, showing paintings never really shown before as they are not in the style of his famous masterpieces of the cubist period.
Some practical information: the museum is accessible by metro with the line I, red, station Arc of Triomf, with the line III, green, station Liceu and the IV line, yellow, station Jaume I. The hours from Tuesday to Sunday and Monday holidays, from 10.00 to 20.00 (closing days: January 1, May 1, June 24, 25 and December 26).

Picasso and his art contribute to increasing the already huge artistic heritage of this city. The Picasso Museum is just another reason for choosing Barcelona as a destination for a cultural trip. It is advisable to reach the various artistic attractions quickly to get a choice of an accommodation in a central position. There is a list of Barcellona appartamenti online with the option to search for apartments by the “Quarter” that you like. Don’t forget the chance to sleep in an albergo Barcelona.

Leah Penn spends most of her time reading, writing and living Barcelona. In particular she likes creating useful guides for tourists about culture, sightseeing and accommodation, in particular Alberghi barcellona and http://www.oh-barcelona.com/it/all_accom/accommodation_studio/
“>Appartamenti a barcellona. She updates her website; www.oh-barcelona.com/it/ regularly.

Barcelona is known worldwide for its amazing nightlife (hundreds of bars, clubs and discos) and the wonderful cultural attractions. But another feature makes it even more unique: the beaches located just close to the city.

The city offers 4 km of good quality beaches, and sometimes the water is better than many other famous places both in Italy and Europe. Quite honestly, it is impossible to expect Caribbean beaches in Barcelona: the city holds 3 million inhabitants and is a lively, modern metropolis; as a result it is safe to say the beaches don’t escape at least a bit of pollution, as to be expected.

The area that hosts almost all the beaches is the area of Barceloneta. Not so far from here lies the beach of Sant Sebastiá, equipped with many showers, different services, assistance, tourist information and medical relief.
But the main (and most famous) beach of the area is known as Barceloneta and hosts a lot of comfortable appartamenti a Barcellona. This beach is also known because of the work of Rebecca Horn which stands right in the middle of the area. Both these two stretches of coastline can be reached by metro with the yellow line (L4), stopping at Barceloneta or Ciutadella.

Lovers of the naturist sea can find a space dedicated to their relaxation. The beach of Mar Bella is, in fact, the section devoted to this type of practice. The metro station, still yellow line, is Selva del Mar and from there is necessary a small one quarter of an hour walk. This stretch of coast is actually marked as a nudist naturist beach but actually we do not see many.

Coming down towards the Olympic City you can meet Nova Icária beach, characterized by many bars, restaurants and discos. Lovers of cycling, skating or jogging can not miss the beautiful promenade of Bogatell. The beach is very wide and the seafront boulevard gives the best of itself with the beautiful days of summer sun.

But between Barcelona beaches there is another one more beautiful (and less popular). Nova Mar Bella is, in fact, the stretch most characteristic and perhaps a little less touristy since it is not easily reachable.

In short, a summer holiday in the city can also include relaxing breaks at the sea. Book your Barcellona hotel or choose between the range of Barcellona appartamenti. After this you can start planning your vacation in the capital of Catalonia. It is difficult to choose between monuments, nightlife and beaches.

Leah Penn is a keen writer on Barcelona. In particular she is knowledgeable about Appartamenti barcellona and Hotel a barcellona. She is also very interested in cookery, festivals and history in Barcelona, including her website www.oh-barcelona.com/it/

The wonderful city of Barcelona in addition to the beautiful tourist attractions (monuments, museums, places of cultural interest) and the crazy “movida” (lots of bars, clubs and discos) gives the possibility of a very relaxing day on the beach.

In the Catalan capital there are 4 km of beaches. However, you won’t find a beach of golden sand and crystal water here! This is due to the fact that the beach is positioned very close to a metropolis of about 3 million people. Anyway, beaches are quite discreet and water cleaner than many other Spanish beaches…

The best known beach in the city is the beach of Barceloneta (a good area to rent good Barcellona appartamenti). Located just in the city, at about 15 minutes walk from the end of Las Ramblas or very close to the metro stop line 4, Barceloneta or Ciutadella, the beach of Barceloneta is also famous for the “Tribute to Barceloneta”, an installation by Rebecca Horn that stands out in the middle of the beach.

Near the Barceloneta, you will find the beach of Sant Sebastiá. It is a beach equipped with showers and various services, including an information point, tourist guides and medical emergency point. The metro is the yellow line L4, stop Barceloneta.

Near the Olympic city, you can meet the Nova Icária beach along which there are dozens of bars, restaurants and discos.
Lovers of skating, cycling and jogging, however, cannot miss the chance to visit Bogatell. The beach is wide and you can take advantage of a large promenade, perfect for sunny walks.

Barcelona also offers a beach reserved for nudists. We are talking about the Mar Bella, also linked to the city by the yellow line 4 metro (Selva de Mar stop). From here, there is a quarter of an hour walk to the beach. Reasonably near to this the Nova Mar Bella the least known beach in the city is located, unknown due to the longer distance in the city and so less easily attainable. According to many this is the most beautiful beach in Barcelona.

So remember that Barcelona can also offer some amazing beaches! A summer journey in the city may include a relaxing day on the beach for a refreshing bath or to sunbathe. Once you have booked your hotel a Barcellona or chosen your accomodation from the wide range of appartamenti Barcellona, you can start to plan your holiday in the capital of Catalonia, between monuments, museums, tapas bars, nightlife and also beaches. You can get more useful information about these topics visiting one of the blogs about Barcelona on the net.

Think of the best party night you’ve ever been to. Yes, that one. Good wasnt it? You’ve had some good nights since but nothing has ever really compared, has it? Until now..

Marriage: we love it. But not, perhaps for the reasons you’re thinking of. Yes, it’s your chance to grow old and ever so slightly wrinkly with the person of your dreams. It’s dinner parties, 2.4 children, and, much later in life, grand prix races on your personalised stairlifts. But that’s all for later. Right now, whilst you’re on the brink of marriage-dom, it’s time to start thinking about parties. Your party. And you’d better make it a good one…

If you’re trying to organise your stag or hen night you want your party to go with the sort of bang that has people talking about it decades later. You want to be a legend of all-conquering partydom. You want to be the prince or princess of stags or hens. Why wouldn’t you? No point doing things by half-measures is there?

Marriage may be all about beginnings (and cake, dresses, flowers, rings and appeasing mildly annoying relatives), but marriage marks an end as well as a beginning. It marks the end of your days basking in singledom. Think about it – this may be the last time you get to arrange a party night entirely on your own terms – and that’s an opportunity not to be missed. Actually, that’s got to be worth celebrating with the biggest, wildest, earth-shatteringly finest party of your life.

But have you ever tried organising a party night? Ever tried getting all the mates you know in one place at the same time – even if it’s just down the local for a drink and a pack of dry roasted? Logistical nightmare, eh? And we’re talking about organising the party to end all parties which may, all of a sudden, be sounding a bit daunting.

What you need is someone to take the hassle out of putting your stag or hen night together. Do-it-yourself is fine when it comes to putting up a shelf or painting the living room but when it comes to sorting hotels, activities, venues, transport and the most unpredictable element of all - your friends - you have a choice. You can either take it entirely upon yourself to sort everything and then get pilloried when the taxi doesn’t turn up, you find the restaurant fully booked or find the queue at the night club is three miles long or you can have it all done for you.

That’s where your stag and hen weekend organiser comes in. They’ll make sure that you get a stag or hen night that’s memorable for all the right reasons. They are your own personal party planner, there to kick ideas around, make a few suggestions, make the bookings and ensure everything runs smoothly from enthusiastic, excited start to vodka and Red Bull-fuelled, kebab-laden finish. A party organiser should be the (relatively) sensible one who sorts the tickets, the hotel and the taxi. The best party organisers should do everything your mates would do if they knew where to start, with the added bonus that they won’t drain your fridge of beer or nick all your Haribo while they’re discussing plans.

So here’s how you do it…

The 5 steps to party night perfection:

Make sure you have some friends. Bribe some if necessary.

Consider a reason for your party. It doesn’t have to be a stag or hen night. Getting divorced? Been promoted? Is it a Thursday? You don’t actually need a reason to party, of course – but it does help. And the more obvious the reason the better. Your friends may feel that you buying a new toaster is all the reason you need to arrange a weekend break in Brighton but on the other hand they may think you’re a bit odd.

Think about the sort of things you’d like to do. We’ll assume drinking and eating are no-brainers but how else are you going to fill those hours? Will your stag weekend be spent quad-biking, paintballing or clay pigeon shooting? Will your hen weekend involve rally-driving, archery or learning the seductive art of pole dancing? Start canvassing your friends. Get a few opinions. Ignore the one who says they’d rather stay in and watch Jeremy Kyle.

Decide where you want to go? Stag and hen nights don’t have to be confined to Britain, although you’d be hard-pushed to be stuck for something to do in places like Blackpool or Brighton. Europe is a fast growing party destination with places like Dublin and Riga offering a wild weekend just a little different to the norm.

Get in touch with your party organiser. Stuck for ideas? They’ll put some your way. Stuck for locations? They’ll make a few choice suggestions. Stuck for friends? Sorry, you’re on your own with that one.

Your weekend break, your stag weekend, your hen weekend: they’re all too important to leave to chance. This is the most important party night of your life. Make it the best party night of your life too.

Many of the hot night clubs you hear about in Vegas are actually classified as ultra lounges. So what sets an ultra lounge apart from the rest? They aren’t just regular night clubs with dancing, lights, music, and drinks. They are higher end, intimate, decadent Las Vegas clubs. Many ultra lounges offer spectacular views (both inside and out), plush private tables/booths/party areas, lights, ambiance, and atmosphere. The clientele are a cut above, and the servers are dedicated to making your experience the best possible one. Ultra lounges are perfect for small parties, socializing, or more intimate gatherings. The environment is usually more relaxed, sexy, and rich.

Marine life holds an interesting collection, and people are finding more and more ways to get a close encounter with it. But some people are not satisfied with watching fish from a giant walk-in aquarium. They want to get wet themselves and swim with the magnificent creatures of the sea. There are various diving spots, depending on the risk you’re willing to take.

1. Dolphin Encounters. Dolphins have to be the safest out of all the big aquatic animals. Being a harmless creature, there are many marine parks in the world that allow close encounters with dolphins. There’s the famous Sea World in San Diego, Dolphin Cove in Florida, Dolphin Discovery in Mexico, Dolphin Quest in Bermuda in Hawaii and many more. Think of a tropical country and they’ll probably have dolphin diving spots. Though safe, dolphin encounters require some training and educational session first. Fly to Mexico and start your adventures!

2. Turtle Snorkeling. If you’re not up for dolphins, maybe turtles are a better choice. Hawaii is one of the places that offer great encounters with these cute green water critters. Like dolphins, these giants are harmless, making a safe and interesting encounter for tourists. Fly to Hawaii and enjoy marine wildlife!

3. Swimming with Whale Sharks. The world’s biggest fish and biggest shark can be found in Philippine waters and can be easily viewed from December to May. Don’t fret about swimming with these creatures because its name is a big misnomer. It is actually not a whale, and though it’s a shark, it’s another gentle giant. Its size can be intimidating but it won’t bite!

4. Shark Expeditions. This time, I’m talking about real life-threatening sharks. Aquatica Charters in Los Angeles Harbor offers various ways to have a shark encounter. There are the caged dives where you can be in the same waters as the sharks, but you’ll be viewing them from a steel cage. Day and night, swimmer or sinker, you can take this aquatic tour. But if the thrill from a caged dive is not enough for you, you can get the Extreme Shark Expeditions where in you get to swim without the cage! There will be nothing between you and a fatal shark but water. This type of tour is obviously risky and thus requires expertise in diving and education about sharks. Whether it’s a caged or open water dive, LA will cater to your marine tour wants. South Africa and the Carribean also offer these thrilling dives. Fly to the Bahamas and get a view of tiger sharks, hammerheads, lemonsharks and more!

Encounters with the marine wildlife can be intimidating and subliminal life experiences. It offers a different world of color and life. Just take note of whatever the tour guide says because these creatures deserve respect. Though some of these are harmless, there are some that enjoy solitude and do not want to be incessantly poked.

St.Julian’s Malta is now the most prominent place sought for its night life, but two to three hundred years ago was barely inhabited. St. Julian’s was used as hunting grounds for the Knights who aptly named the area for the patron saint of hunters. Rafael Spinola, a prominent knight, built his imposing villa overlooking the small bay which still bears his name. This elegant Spinola Palace, built in 1658 is the landmark historic building on the bay of Spinola. The palace was enlarged in 1733 through the efforts of Fra Giovanni Battista Spinola, Bali of the order and successor to his uncle as rector and Curator of the Abbazia. During the French occupation of these islands in 1798, French troops were stationed in the palace and wrought havoc there. In fact it is thanks to them that the Order’s emblem atop the clock on the fa?ade was mutilated.

This picturesque bay is still used by fishermen whose traditional boats are housed just below the restaurants. St.Julian’s bay is particularly attractive at night and as a venue for open-air dining. Sick people used to be taken under the statue of St. Julian, in Spinola Bay to be bathed in a streamlet which flowed from there to the sea. Today the statue is barely visible since it is almost enveloped by the amount of bars, restaurants and other leisure resorts which cater for the needs of thousands of people throughout the whole week especially during weekends.

St Julian’s is now an extension of Sliema although it started life as a small fishing port based on Spinola and Balluta Bays. Up to the first decades following the Second World War, Valletta was the cultural and entertainment centre of Malta. Young people from all over the island used to gather there and meet in what is now called Republic Street. However during the early 70’s and 80’s there was a shift from Valletta to the Sliema - St. Julian’s area with the result that Paceville became the place where young people met their peers. St Julian’s merges with Paceville, Malta’s main nightlife centre where there are clubs, casinos and numerous restaurants, cafes and bars.

What attracts people to Paceville and St.Julian’s apart from the nightlife is that everything is concentrated within one area and all within walking distance. The presence of so many hotels, namely 60 per cent of the 5 star categories, catering and entertainment establishments regularly draw most of Malta’s youth and life-lovers to this area. The fact that St. Julian’s is also, practically within walking distance from the shopping centers of Sliema and there is a fairly regular bus service to and from Valletta, makes the place an ideal spot for one to spend many enjoyable holiday nights.

The population of St. Julian’s is 7,667 people (Nov 2005).

Typical Types of Sleeping Bags

Air Mattress Sleeping Bag If you are planning a camping, backpacking or some other type of trip that will take you out and about into the great outdoors, you will want to give some serious and direct consideration to making the purchase of an air mattress sleeping bag. There actually are some wonderful benefits that are associated with an air mattress sleeping bag. The fact is that those people who have tried an air mattress sleeping bag tend to avoid using any other types of sleeping bag.

Coleman Sleeping Bag

If you are a person – or a member of a family – that enjoys spending time in the great outdoors, you understand the vital importance of buying and using the best equipment, the most suitable products for your woodland adventures. In short, when it comes to purchasing products and equipment for camping or for other recreational activities that will find you spending time outside, you want to make sure that you are getting these items from a company or manufacturer that has a solid and incomparable reputation in the field. This particularly is the case when it comes to sleeping gear and sleeping bags. For many years, Coleman sleeping bag products have been at the pinnacle.

Double Sleeping Bag

If you are planning a camping trip with that special someone in your life, you may be giving some thought to the idea of buying a double sleeping bag for the trip. Before you set off to the local sporting goods store to find and buy a double sleeping bag, take a moment to consider the pros and cons of a double sleeping bag. Take a moment to determine how a double sleeping bag can best be a part of your overall gear and equipment scheme.

Love Your Sleeping Bag and It’ll Love You

Your Sleeping Bag is quite often your bed. For some who live a lifestyle that keeps them in the outdoors for long periods of time, it’s their only bed and the most important caming outdoor gear. But your bag isn’t like a regular mattress. It needs attention to keep it at its fluffy best throughout the years. SierraTradingPost has a great sleeping bag guide that contains all the information you’d need when buying or caring for your bag. We’ve listed their care suggestions below, along with ours to help you get the most life out of your bag. So here it is…

How to Clean and Care for your Sleeping Bag…

Dry out your bag immediately after every use. Always follow the care instructions for your bag if washing it. If you misplace them, wash your bag by hand with a mild detergent and tumble dry on low heat, or wash in a front-loading washer on a gentle cycle. Store your bag in a cool, dry place and never leave it jammed inside a stuff sack, or it will eventually lose loft and will permanently become less effective. Use a storage sack if possible. Never pack away a wet sleeping bag for longer than it takes to drive home from your destination. Hang it out to dry or tumble dry it at low heat as soon as you get home. Additional Sleeping Bag Care Suggestions… If your bag is down-filled and you don’t have your care instructions, but would like to clean it, you have options. Try taking a bucket with detergent and warm water and dipping a rag in it. Wipe your bag down with this rag. Antiacterial wipes are also a great way to do a quickie job on your bag before you store it away. Storing your bags in a large Rubbermaid style container is a great way to keep the mice away. Many of us store our gear in garages or basements and you never know when a varmit will be dropping in to see if he can find something to gnaw on. If you are traveling by plane and have to leave your bag stuffed in its stuff sack for long periods of time (days) try unpacking it when you get to your destination and letting it loft up. Often when traveling we have a day or so in a hotel or at a friends house before we hit the trail. This can give your bag a break from being stuffed away and will keep it lofty for your trip and recreation life. By maintaining your bag well you could pull a good 10 years out of it. There are probably many other ways you can keep your bag in top shape.

How to Stay Warm in a Sleeping Bag

Just because your sleeping bag goes down to 10 degrees doesn’t mean you can just slide in at nighttime and be toasty all night. Follow these tips to keep your heat close. Use a quality sleeping mat: Get yourself away from the ground. Even putting a 1 inch layer of air between you and the ground (such as provided by a Thermarest) can make a huge difference. Don’t lose your clothes: When its below freezing, the only things you should take off before getting into your sleeping bag are your boots and an outer shell jacket. Keep your polarfleece and long underewear on your corpus. I like to change my socks before going to bed (rather than in the morning) as they give your feet a dry, warm home for the night. Wear a hat: It’ll make a world of difference. Snuggle deep: Keep your arms and your head inside your bag, and wrap it around your face. Lie still: Limit your movement as much as you can. The cool side of the pillow theory doesn’t apply when winter camping.

Sophisticated Customers

Besides growing competition, customers’ changing habits are pushing outdoor and travel equipment retailers to invest into more sophisticated stores, services and goods. The high number of various retailers on the market is one reason that shopper loyalty is very low, as more than two-thirds of Czechs switch between many sport stores. People choose their sport stores mainly according to location, assortment and expertise of the shop assistants, the survey shows. Responding to the changing customers’ habits Hudysport has, instead of expanding, invested tens of millions of crowns over the past two years into revamping its 29 Czech and seven Slovak franchised stores. “We are focusing on remodeling our outlets, which will also continue this year,” Sedlisky said, adding that Hudysport is keeping up with new trends and provides products made of innovative materials. He added the store trains its personnel so they can expertly assist clients. “Customers have grown wise and have become more discerning. … They now think carefully what products to buy to invest their still growing amount of money responsibly,” he said. “While five years ago, customers were satisfied with one kind of blue and red jacket that quickly sold out, now they ask for modern designs, innovative materials and various colors.” Regarding outdoor and sports goods, low prices are not the key factor and shoppers pay close attention to the quality they get at a given price. The brand is perceived mostly as a feature that guarantees quality, but the brand itself is not of great value, according to the survey.

“The trend is clear. … Rather than buying a cheap vacuum bottle or sleeping bag in [a hypermarket] they go to specialized stores and invest in higher-quality brand products.”
